Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:
Ever since he started working at Fuel and Lubricants Depot nr. 1211, comrade P.A. Nikolayevsky has been showing himself an extremely active depot employee. Aside from his main duties, comrade Nikolayevsky took a highly active part in organizing the depot’s fuel and lubricants storage section and its storehouses, which formed a large contribution to the organizing and establishing of the depot as a whole. The duties of his Operational Records Section were organized exemplarily. Toward his comrades he is always extremely sociable, kindhearted, and just. He is a cultured officer and he is demanding of himself and his subordinates. He is dedicated to the cause of the Party of Lenin and Stalin and the socialist motherland. For his selfless efforts in organizing the depot and for his everyday duties he fully deserves the Order of the Red Star.

Not everyone was a frontline hero, but a modern mechanised war needed an efficent back up and it is good he was recognised for his work.

I couldn't agree with you more, Ade, and consider, this Lieutenant was in his 50's when he received these awards. It is all of a piece, remove one small part, and the whole is diminished.
