During a clash with an enemy unit near the town of Volya Nidovska, Guards Master Sergeant N.I. Kashmaty fired from an open firing position while subjected to artillery shelling. With his mortar he destroyed 2 light vehicles and 2 wagons carrying various kinds of cargo and killed 60 Hitlerites. Afterward he spotted 2 enemy firing positions; shifting fire in their direction he destroyed the 2 firing positions. Comrade Kashmaty is a loyal son of the motherland and a brave and valiant soldier.
He deserves to be awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class.
