    Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment


    Comrade M.A. Shalygin has worked in railroad transportation since 1942. He worked as a machinist since 1931 and in management since 1935. He has worked as a technical unit column chief since December, 1942.

    During his work on the Zhitonskaya railroad column Comrade Shalygin he has proven himself an energetic, Party leader. He has organized socialist competitions among the Comsomol brigades in a fine manner and by his initiative the brigades with their own means prepared material for heating train engines and 80% (?) were already prepared. With their own means they conducted the painting of (?) and preserved it (?) cultural (?). (?) conducted Party massive work and achieved (?) among the column’s personnel (?). (?) of the disciplinary regulations. (?) accomplishment of the plan to repair (?) Kaunus. By his optimism the train brigades accomplished quality repairs on four train engines in the first ten days of December.

    Comrade Shalygin also conducts massive work with the workers of Kaunus depot.

    Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

    Working on the railroad frontal sectors he mobilized the column’s entire personnel to exemplary mission accomplishment in military transportation. His personal example of discipline under difficult working conditions on the front is an example of valor and self-sacrifice. Repeatedly risking his life, he personally participated in extinguishing fires, thus saving military equipment from destruction.
