Firstly let me say that I am no expert on KM badges so don't take only my opinion but others will contribute soon I am sure.
I do not like this item at all. The obverse detail is poor, I don't believe the maker mark is correct and the finish looks very modern. There are other more detailled points but it doesn't help us to assist the fakers in their trade.
It would be expensive to get this wrong so wait for more experienced opinion but this one is not for me

Have to agree with Mark, there are many differences between this and known original badges by Schwerin.
It's done well but not well enough. Soft details. Compare the makers mark and reverse to an original and you will see the differences.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
It's a postwar reproduction.
