I'm not liking either of these two medals. The details are lacking what I would be happy to see and there is pitting and irregularities over the surfaces. The ribbon on number 1 is a reproduction.
My advice would be to pass and look for better examples.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

I agree with Adrian.
Next time, please start a separate thread for each of them.
Uploading photos and posting multiple items.
Ralph.
Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)

I agree also.
The detail of both is quite "rough" and has the look of being deliberately rubbed down to simulate wear. I think these are castings.
As Ralph says, especially for the purposes of authentication, each item needs to be posted separately. Otherwise it can be difficult to know which one is being discussed. In this case the opinions (mine at least) apply to both pieces.
Regards
Mark.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Thank you very much Adrian for your time and answer!

For the same reason, the details, I didn't really like both medals either, but I wasn't entirely sure if they were original or not from the period.
And as I told Ralph, sorry for the mess and next time I'll post each medal independently.
Greetings!
Gianfranco
