I am sure this is original I know its WW1 but not sure what the medal itself is called. BTW is the G14 the makers mark? If so does anyone know who it is?

Agreed, I do not see a problem with the EK2

not too good with pics cos of my eyesight so wont comment yet on the ek. the cross of honour is good (its actually a weimar award for world war one veterens) and the ribbon bar looks good too.

Can you get a look at the ring that connects the cross to the ribbon? Is there a small number stamped on it? That will tell you the manufacturer, there are databases out there matching the code to the factory. That can give you info on the type of medals that were processed at that factory and any charactaristics.

Do you have a black light/UV light? Test the ribbon. WW2 era ribbons will not "glow" or react to the UV light. Just a test for legitimacy.

Do you have a history of the medal? Where did it come from and for how much if you paid for it.

If they are legit, they look great.
