Feuerwehr Ehrenzeichen zweiter Stufe grouping

Although I had a 2nd Class Fire Cross already, I couldn't resist this little grouping which I purchased last week.

The cross is in mint condition and comes with its original ribbon, bandspange and case.

Also accompanying the award is the original award certificate which is really nice.

A fireman receiving this award isn't overly special in the grand scale of things however, take a look at the date he was awarded this... 1 September 1939!

So whilst Karl Lotz is at his awards ceremony, his armed countrymen are busy invading Poland on the same day, and bringing the world close to a second World War

Very nice, I really like this award. Such a nice design.

The certificate is more difficult to find.
