    That being said, it appears to be a good E. Ferdinand Wiedmann zinc badge with a wide pin and lily pad hinge.

    It's a nice, original Wiedmann wide pin zincer in my opinion, these are uncommon and quite desirable.

    I don't think so William.
    It appears to be in about the same condition as the one that I referenced and about the same appearance. It is either flux or the effect of the flux on the zinc. It is also all about the same grey color.

    Likely just a sloppy job of adhering the hardware, I am thinking. A nice badge, in any case and as said, not a common specimen.
