Here's a nice early tombak Luftwaffe Reconnaissance, Air/ Sea Rescue & Meteorlogical clasp bronze grade. Not a common clasp to get .

Nice clasp

These are my favourite amongst the Frontflugspangen. I just think the symbology is so apt as well as looking pretty cool; Oak leaves for courage and the eagle for powers of observation, sums it up so well. Recce pilots in any airforce need nerves of steel and ice in their veins in my opinion! Flying directly into a hornets nest in most cases and often more than one pass with only flying skill and cunning to get them back out!

Here's my trio for comparison.



Excuse the terrible pictures but the light here today is awful (it's raining!!!). It's hard to tell in the obverse pic but easier in the reverse that the bronze is much darker and less glittery (is that a word?) than the gold just as with the Nahkampfspange.
