Help: Ostmedaille - wanna know if its fake or not

hi, i would like to have your opinion about this WW2 german medal. i know it was for german soldiers who survived to the first russian winter and it seems to be made in zinc, but don`t know if its fake or not. what`s your opinion? greetings

This one looks just fine to me. It's a very common medal and not heavily faked. This one appears to be ground dug.

Hello as mentioned looks fine also most likely ground dug quite common unless it is very cheap I would try and fine one in much better condition

thanks , condition it`s not important for me, what i care from a piece for my collection if it is genuine or not. do you think is there any posibility of cleaning it?

to clean: water with soap, dry it and apply vaseline.

Leave it as is. Attempting to clean it will make it look more messed up than the way it looks now.

Don't clean it, you will never be able to restore it to what it was. Enjoy it for what it is. These are inexpensive and common medals, if you want one in better condition you can find one easily.

And take acid completely out of your mind.

I agree, leave it as is ! Ostmedals in this condition are scarcer than minty ones
