    Evening everyone,

I finally got round to trying to identify this ostmedaille I got a while ago. It came with a packet, which I found almost impossible to read, but it looks like it must be by E. Ferdinand Wiedmann (going by the shape).

I was trying to tell if the medal itself is original to the packet, and to my very inexperienced eye it looks like it is, though I'm hoping someone with more experience could verify this.

    Thanks in advance!

I've actually already been using this and found it very useful (probably should have mentioned that), though thanks anyway!

It is very nice set and medal, that is for sure. Regarding your question, comparing your medal with Wiedmanns example in that database I would also say that maker is probably Wiedmann.

    Best regards,

    Hello Sgt Stubby

Your Medaille and Pouch are both good originals and the Pouch is a Wiedmann as stated in earlier comments.
But the Medaille and pouch are not a set, they dont belong together.

The Medaille is a OM28, Eugen Schidhaussler

Thanks for taking a look Sindri, OM28 is definitely a much better match than OM19.

Also, thanks very much for making such a useful website!

    Thank you
The OM19 and OM28 are very much alike, but if you compare the "2" in "42" and the pointy Lorbeere leaf (and there is more) furthest to left you will see it.

    All the best
