The ribbon at least is original. A nice plus, as many of these awards are found with modern replacements.

I personally don't see anything wrong with the medal itself, but then I don't collect or study these in great detail. If it was offered to me, I'd probably buy it, but again that's not saying much.

It looks to be a later zinc example with almost all of the finish remaining.
Do you know the maker mark on the reverse of the packet?
The ring could also be stamped for a maker.
