Hi Farradin, it is not an original.
Originals were field made by the troops themselves in 1945 and they are quite crudely cast. They did not have backing cloth etc.

Ade's correct. All Lappland shields were made by German POW's. With a "blind eye" turned by their captors. They're a very much personal taste award,as to originality. Here's mine,made from linotype which was available to the POW's. Stewy S
