Hello, i got this medal in a grouping and i havent held or examined one of these medals in a while and was a little concerned about it. It is probably original but i would like any other opinions on it.

My initial observation is that it's very poor quality with numerous die flaws. The word 'FUR' is misformed on the top of the letters and there is a flaw on the swastika as well as on the inner border within the wreath.

Die flaws don't necessarily mean it's a fake. Different materials, old dies being used are all possible on original medals and awards.

Don't judge it based upon these flaws, look at the whole picture and compare to others made of zinc. Joachim's excellent example is made from buntmetall so while useful as reference, it cannot be used as a direct comparison.

I think my medal is made of zinc.Are examples of Buntmetall was produced?I know only the types in Aluminium and zinc?
