Guys, here is a veteran acquired piece with an unusual ribbon, shown next to a standard cross for comparison. Thought you'd like to see. Best, Hal

hi hal very nice items there, i think the case with the silver cross on top is for just that the silver mutters kreuz? the silver cased awards seem scarce? i think the cross thats in it is from the wrong box? never seen a ribbon like that before ? jmo

The silver version of the Mutterkreuz never came in a case, just an envelope.
The crosses and cases are nice examples, the beige ribbon is obviously a replacement, when it was replaced is anyone's guess. The weave doesn't look like the normal type usually found on ribbons from that period though.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
cheers for that adrian
Thanks Ewan and Adrian for your comments. Best, Hal
I agree the cross is very nice as is the case
