Excellent pick up Michael. I always loved seeing these in wear and thought how badass that guy looked .
I'm loving that display. The mini PAB stick pin ,even small is just the perfect touch.
    That's eye candy right there

Thanks Phil. Was just explaining to my son how tough the guy had to be to be awarded one but think about this guy....

I ran across another nice one for sale (a harder to find Type 2 no less)......and they don't take up space in the shrinking room of yours....wife won't even notice it....

    Thanks David!

I have Champagne tastes and a beer budget. LoL

Really loved researching these awards. Big Ned was, true to form, an immense help in putting me on the right track!

Kudo's to the seller who as I noted is a true gentleman.
Looks very much at home nestled in amongst your collection of Panzerkampfabzeichen's Michael, you're getting a wonderfully eclectic mix across the board of a wide range of quality TR items. Marvellous to look at!

    Regards, Ned.

Thanks Ned. Would never have been possible to achieve this little collection of scrap metal without the likes of you and others.

I will admit, I like eclectic. Always something different to catch my eye each time I go into the War Room.

This arrived in the mail today from a very nice gentleman. He also gave me two nice Speisemark tickets.

A nice Type 1 Tank destruction Award. Have been looking to add one to my collection for quite some time.

Overall in very good condition but was probably a vet bring back or similar as there is remains of what appears to be some glue on the backing. Also the backing cloth is loose in some places but not a concern for me. Nice to see the rear attachment plate and prongs.

Backing cloth appears to be originally black (they came in different varieties) or maybe dark blue. Tank is magnetic.

Type 1 awards have a number of die flaws. Most notably the:

    - Rear fender is slightly over the rear cog.

    - The top rollers are not perfectly spaced (you can see on the top, a gap in front of the last roller where there should be the teeth of one of the treads.

    - Poor "smushed" teeth of the treads between the last roller and the rear cog

Double click the photos to enlarge and see the really fine details. Hopefully it will help others if/when they are researching for their own purchase.

    Enjoy!

    Michael

And although not "technically" part of the PAB series of awards, I think it fits nicely with my little grouping
