QUESTIONS: Eastern front blue division medal???

Hi all!

I was hoping that someone would be able to give me feedback on a "Blue division eastern front medal".
How rare are they?
What is a decent asking price for an "ok" condition medal?
I have the opportunity to acquire one but am a little hesitant as I do not know too much about this particular award.
Any information will be most appreciated.

Hi Adrian, welcome to the forum. Suprisingly I've found they are not all that rare, but you must be careful. I've read that an unknown Spanish firm kept punching these out post 1945, like Russia did with all of their medals. Since Franco was in power, the swastika was not immediately outlawed following the war. I don't know if Ade can give more info on that or not. I've seen them lately for $145 to $165 US on various sites. The fake Blue Division medals I've seen were of extremely poor quality and easy to spot. Post the photo of any medals you wish to purchase here before you lock yourself into a purchase.

Originals are zinc with a gilt finish.

The medal is normally zinc ... and has gone gold collor with time. There are examples of unmarked and marked with the manufacturer such as number "1 " Deschler & Sohn is the most sought.
