Russian Cossacks Eisernes Kreuz - "fantasy"l or not?

Hi,
I once again need the expert help here. This cross I have never seen before. I tried to get some information on it and apparently it should be some sort of Russian Cossack Iron Cross. Is it for real or is it a “fantasy” cross? I have some pictures of it.

The award itself is not a fantasy but the badge above is a reproduction and very different to accepted originals. Originals are actually quite poor in comparison to the above. They are made from thin stamped metal and are painted, never enamelled.
