This badge is a zinc Schwerin award, variant M1.1.9 on the Classification Table.
The space between the eagle's head and wings is cut out and the hinge pin is headless as opposed to some Schwerin badges that have a domed or flat head to this pin.
The catch is a flat wire type with a flat base and mounted on a round base plate.
The makers mark is an integral part of the die and is the second type having no periods between the words PLACZEK BERLIN and SCHWERIN BERLIN.
The finish is reasonably good for a zinc award with nearly all of the silver wash present on the waterspout and minimal wear to the gold wreath although it has faded somewhat. The reverse has bubbles which is typical for this maker and the finish applied.
