I am merely a casual observer of these awards but 3 things strike me immediately as odd.
1) The adler wings are heavily cast into the cross.
2) The pin shape is unfamiliar
3) The catch is oddly bulbous
While these may be characteristics of a variant I am unfamiliar with, if I were to come across this piece in a market (and without further expertise on the subject), I would pass.

The cross is based on the Junker design Spanish Cross w/o Swords and is an awful fake for all the reasons he gives as well as a couple more, avoid.
