I cannot comment on the makers mark, but overall I like it.

Hello Tony,
having a quick look at your cross it looks very much like an Otto Schickle Cross to me.
It does look like either a weak strike on the eagles and the sword grips that could be due to die wear but that L/1 mark is intriguing.
It is obviously a part stamp perhaps of the L/15 Mark that Schickle used.
I would add it to my collection with a ? tab on it
All the best

I agree with the comments above and I like this one too. I can understand the concern over the maker mark but it does seem clear to me that this mark is incomplete with a chunk of the right edge missing, that is to say it is an inaccurate strike and as these would be done by hand with a punch and hammer (correct me if I am wrong here but I believe it to be the case) that is not a concern regarding authenticity. Also, separately attached eagles is NOT a red flag with these, quite the opposite in fact.
Regards
Mark

Reason: typo
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
