Strange Fire Medal

Hey guys,

Got one for you. Take a look at this thing, anybody ever seen one before? Out of the woodwork from a civilian.

The wording on the back indicates it is for FIRE PROTECTION as differs from FIRE BRIGADE like I have always seen on similar medals. The Swaz is brazed or soldered on, so it must have been in place Before the enamel was laid. Everything looks correct, like the stippling behind the red enamel, The ribbon is, for sure, Original, and the medal just "feels" good to me. For what that is worth!

This is the only one I have ever seen in 50 Years of collecting New one on me, What do you guys think? Disregard the case, just an extra one I had.

First impression is that it's a DDR medal that has had a coat of arms removed and a swastika added. A few more images not in direct sunlight would help and especially where the swastika attaches to the cross.
