Hi Sam,
The Destroyer badge looks like a Schickle/Mayer type. I'm 95% certain it's good, it matches in many, many areas. The only thing holding me back from being 100% sure is the pattern of the waves in the foreground. The bow wave is a good match to a known original as is the ship, wreath and eagle. The reverse matches well too although I've not come across one with the striations on the head of the pin. The trimming outlines also seem to be good.
The only thing I can't find a match to are the waves.
If you do a search on the net for this type of badge and compare to some others you can make an informed decision.
Here's one from my files for comparison to start you off.......

You guys are GOOD.
If you had the choice between the one I have listed above or this one, which do you like best? Again I know very little in this area.
Your choice Sam! The Schwerin is definitely an original with a replaced pin and hinge as you know, the Schickle is a rarer maker to find. At the end of the day it's about price and your preference.

The Schickle is actually cheaper so I will go with that one. Thanks so much for your help!! I really appreciate it!

Sam
Good luck with the purchase and please post some better pics when you get it!

It's not mine Sam, just images I've saved for reference. I have no idea who it belongs to.
