LondonJay, it is for a Bulgarian WW1 medal, 'Bulgarien Tapferkeits Medaille' , the Bulgarian Medal for Bravery, for a combatant hence the crossed swords. Awarded to German personel serving in Bulgaria or with Bulgarian units. The photo shows the ribbon listed under 'Bulgaria' in a period catalogue by the ribbon manufacturer A. D. L. (Albrecht Dittrich oHG, Leipzig).
