Winterschlacht im Osten (Russian Front medal)

Hi folks,
This looks to me like an original medal with some surface bubbling (does that happen because it's zinc-based or is it an environmental thing?). The ribbon appears to be a modern replacement.
These medals have such a superb design...and stand for an incredible amount of courage and suffering for such modest little things! Is this an original, and does anyone know of a source for a spare piece of original length of ribbon?
Any answers greatly appreciated!

Nice original medal, the bubbling is the finish reacting to the base metal over time. The ribbon is original too IMO.

I'm weeding out fakes from my collection at the moment. I began collecting when I was young and naive, so there are a few bad ones lurking amongst the good stuff. I've always like this one so very glad its all original.

Nice still has the white finish around the rim of the medal.

If you still after ribbons I think Lakesidetraders sell original them but not sure if they have any of the russian front ones
