Hi. Is this Souval badge of wartime manufacture? Many thanks
As always, with Souval, was it made before May 1945 or after? But I'll stick my neck out and say I think it's a good, wartime made badge. Others may disagree but I'd be happy with it in my collection.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Thank you Adrian.
I was always told that the "cutout catch" on Souval badges was a deliberate feature on postwar production to distinguish them as many used the existing wartime dies.... is that so?
" I'm putting off procrastination until next week "
I don't know if it was deliberate but it's a common feature on post war Souval badges and any badge with such a catch should be regarded as such.
Here's a thread in which Ade Stevenson shows the type of catch well.

Hi. Yes I've read about that. Luckily this badge doesn't have the cutout just the plain disc. Does that mean that it's most likely wartime? Thank you.
It stands a better chance of being wartime with this reverse set up.

Thanks again Adrian it's quite a nice looking badge I think..
I think it's a good wartime compatible Souval.
Any chance of a shot of the catch and catchplate and also the hinge ?
Cheers,Martin.
Thanks Martin I'll try and post a few more images tonight.
