I have tried to compare this medal with other ones, and I think it must be a fake.

It lacks the details and the font on the backside looks different from the ones I have compared with.

Are I correct in my assumptions?

The original is more bronze color.
But I certainly am no expert on medals.
Sorry I can't give you a definite answer.

You are absolutely correct in your assumptions, the medal is fake and as Jay says, a cast which lacks the crispness of detail of an original.
