Here's a nice link to info on the Odessa medal and the signs what to look for in originals versus fakes:

One thing I noticed on OP's medal in question is that the inscription 'For Defense Odessa' on the top obverse of the medal is closer to the rim that it is to the rounded center portion of the medal, especially at the 12 o'clock area.
