Another recent Soviet medal purchase, an early medal 'For Impeccable Service' 1st Class. First instituted in 1958, these medals were struck and awarded in three classes: the 1st Class award for twenty years of service; the Second Class for fifteen years; and the Third Class for ten years.
This award is a nice early example, with some lovely enamelwork on the obverse and a very attractive rainbow patina. Between 1958 and 1965, 1st Class awards were struck in solid silver. After 1965, they were made from silver-plated brass.
Not an uncommon award by any means, but a nice addition to the Soviet medal shelf.
