OG III bar awarded to Ivan Yakovlevich Nechaev
Several months ago I received this small medal bar containing an OG III # 163114 with a Bravery medal # 1463004. The order and medal are awarded to private Ivan Yakovlevich Nechaev (Иван Яковлевич Нечаев). I was quite lucky that last week I got an update and that a small document and photo were found from the awardee, both which I now also have in my collection. I am glad I was able to reunite these items and give a face to a name.
The OG III's citation is as follows:
"Comrade NECHAEV participated in many engagements against the German invaders, in which he proved himself as courageous, decisive, and reliable soldier. In combat, comrade NACHAEV inspires the other men by personnel example towards the combat objectives and for combat feats. Comrade NECHAEV sustained two wounds while defending the Soviet Motherland. Comrade NECHAEV exceptionally distinguished himself in the engagement on 21 April 1945. By his personal example, he raised his squad mates into assault and was the first to rush into the enemy trenches, killing 2 Germans. The squad took full control of the trenches and fortified. After that, they repelled two enemy counterattacks. For courage and decisiveness in battle, comrade NECHAEV deserves state award - Order “Glory III class”."
This little lot I just received, almost half a year after I received the bar. I just love it when I can put a face to a name. History comes back to life like this!

OG III bar awarded to Ivan Yakovlevich Nechaev
Interesting group of medals. If I understand correctly, both awards were awarded to Ivan Yakovlevich Nechaev for his participation in the Moravia–Ostrava offensive operation (Czechoslovakia) in March-May 1945.
