I saw them offered in Warsaw since about 10 years ago and thought they were purely a commercial venture - so I never knew there was a "story" behind them that included a political party and being officially forbidden.
Very interesting. Thank you very much to all contributors!
As for being collectible .... political party memorabilia is often free/cheap when created and collected later, so who knows? :-)

this medal was issued by the communist party of Russia , here two more example , its easy to find for sale on ebay for 10-20 us dollar

The Order of Stalin was not instituted by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, but by Umalatova's Party for Peace and Unity. This is a persistent misconception. The Russian Communist Party has also established a lot of new (pro-Stalin and pro-Soviet) awards, but they should be seen as a different category.
