Fake aircrew wings?

I got a nice 8th Airforce Ike yesterday, and above the ribbon bars, was this air crew set of wings. I have zero doubts of the authenticity of the jacket and ribbons, but this set of wings screams "fake!" to me. I know absolutely nothing about wings, but the weak details, and casting flaws and lack of makers mark, and weird catch doesn't sit right with me. Is there a chance I'm wrong about this?

I agree, I have an example, and the quality is far superior to that one. Poor casting and detail, no maker.
