    more than likely a private purchase example, service number give an enlistment date of september 1941 in weston-super-mare uk.

    Ok I actually believe I have a cross reference to the back markings

    Seems to be silver from Birmingham in 1939 if I got it right
    English silver marks: marks and hallmarks of Birmingham sterling silver
