maybe a members pin for the german motorist association???...very interesting pin,,never see one like it before
It's a membership pin for the DVB, i.e. the Deutscher Verkehrsbund [= German Traffic Union], more specifically its Abteilung Kraftfahrer [= Motor Vehicle Drivers' Section].
The DVB was a large labor union; originally called "Transportarbeiterverband" [= Transportation Workers' Union], it was renamed "Deutscher Verkehrsbund" in 1923 and disbanded, along with all the other unions, in 1933.
An enamelled example of the badge:
DEUTSCHER VERKEHRSBUND. : ORGANISATIONSABZEICHEN + URKUNDEN 1870-1945 (9) : Deutsches Reich 1933 - 1945 - André Hüsken Militaria
Some (German-language) history on such pre-1933 unions:
ver.di: Lauschke: Organisationszersplitterung vor 1933
thanks for the info, now the badge has it's history known,,,most interesting
Hello, thanks for the quick ID!
