New WWII Medal is being Issues The Arctic Star

I have just learned that a new Medal is being Issued to those that are entitled to it, it is called the Arctic Medal, it looks like the other "Stars" and is for those that served above the Arctic Circle including Merchant Navy

It was good that they finally got the least they deserved for the service they gave.

Thanks, too bad my Grandfather has passed, he made the Murmansk run a couple of time.... but he never applied for the other Medals he would have been entitled too.

On Friday I will be to see several of these medals in wear by the Veterans who won them at such a high price, as I will be on board HMS Belfast with the Arctic Convoys Veterans Club.
