I picked this up today for a couple of bucks. What is it? What country? Who gets it? Is it worth anything? Is it rare? thanks.

Ribbons themselves are not rare, but the medals they represent can be.
I am not familiar with this one. It is not American or British military
as far as I know. It could be anything from American Legion
to Middle Eastern, European, etc..........

Nailed it!
Texas National Guard Medal of Merit

Good one Rob - I searched the net for a half an hour and couldn't find
anything like it. Perhaps I didn't look long enough.........!
From right in your own backyard, Hunt for the IronCross.

Thanks guys!!!
Thanks... I was proud of that little triumph
I found it here: USA Military Medals, Army Medals, Navy Medals, Air Force Medals, Marine Corps Medals, Coast Guard Medals, Civilian Military Medals, Rack Builder, Ribbons, which although is actually a business selling military insignia it makes an excellent resource for US ribbon ID.
It's just as well it was. If you go to the National Guard section you're faced with another section for each state... Alabama... Alaska... Arizona... but I took a guess at Texas and ...yes! Score! I'd probably have got bored at Michigan otherwise...
