Update, this well worn purple heart has a number printed along the edge and the number is 423049. Is there a database to look up the awardee?

Meyerse,
Early numbered Purple Hearts made by the firm Bailey Banks and Biddle #s 1-60,000 were bronze with a gold gilt to them. I believe these can be traced but during WW2 they were not easily traceable but don't give up hope..
