I’ve come across a group of three medals belonging to private aurthur James Dixon and the medals are all renamed apon 3321 Michael skeleton and some other ones. Does anyone know why medals were renamed or is this a trick?

Providing photographs would help. As the saying goes... 'A picture paints a thousand words'. For a start you don't say if the medals have had their original owners name erased and the new name added, or do the medals in question now show two names? The practice of erasing names and adding a new name is not uncommon - and is not always done for fraudulent reasons. For instance, an army veteran who has lost his own medals might purchase original medals, have the names erased and his own added in preference to purchasing copy medals.

Yes there was an original name on it to 3321 and it was badly erased to show 606 aj Dixon
It still would have been nice to see pictures of the medal!

Steve
