Silver star

Hi all.

I have just bought this silver star, and I would like to know if this is original one or not, and I would like to know what period it is from. Is it from wwii?.

It seems good for me, but it was cheap, and I am not an expert.

If any one could help me, it would be very apreciated.

Nice WW2 era (late war slot brooch) Silver Star medal.

Keep in mind these decorations were issued after WW2 as well. Well into the Korean war and as late as Vietnam (depending on the decoration). Some WW2 era Purple Heart medals for example had been issued as late as the 1990 Gulf War.
