Naval General Service Medal 1793-180 with Trafalgar Clasp to Christopher Halfpenny (Landsman) HMS Temeraire. Halfpenny's name is unique on the roll. Born in Dublin and was aged 24 at the time of the battle. Research confirms he was still alive aged 80 as recorded in the 1861 Census. Comes with addition research into later Naval Service and history of the medal's ownership since 1979. Complete with silk ribbon with an ornate silver top buckle . Very attractively framed in a custom made medal mount and illustrative shadow mount, was commissioned for the Naval General Service Medal by a previous custodian. The illustrations to the medal mount include HMS Temeraire, the captured French battleship "Redoutable" and a portrait of Horatio Nelson. The Naval General Service Medal is easily removed from the mount. Size 39cm x 54cm.
