Unknown ribbon on my Grandfather's mount?

I was wondering if someone could help identify this ribbon... I don't think it is a US award at all. The ribbon is very strange, not symmetrical at all... Perhaps an award from another Allied Nation? There is no medal to go with it... I decided to reproduce it to the best of my ability on the computer because the actual ribbon is very worn and the colors faded... Thanks for the help!

Best source I can find is this one Awards and decorations of the United States military - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia there seem to be a lot of US ribbons in that format. Dont know of any UK ones similair but Im no expert. Its a starting point for you anyway

It is indeed the European-Africa-Middle Eastern Campaign ribbon as suggested by Nibody. It is just faded.
