US Air Service Medal

I"m NOT a US Medal collector, this was in a lot with something else I was interested in. I THINK this is a US Air Service medal, but is it real? any time frame of issue? Should I move this on to another collector or throw it in a box (that is, is this something a US collector would appreciate?)

Nice WW2 era Air Medal with a wrap brooch. This style of brooch was used in the 1920's through 1940s.

US Medal collectors may be interested in this.
