Is This a WW2 era Distinguished flying cross?

Thinking of adding this to my WW2 medal collection but not sure if it is WW2 era. I believe to be WW2 era due to the slot brooch and the case design.

From the pictures it does look like a slot catch made from 1944 onwards, but I'm not sure how one could say it was wartime issue or not. The lack of wear to the back of the medal would make me think that it is later issue (i.e it hasn't been worn for decades, rather it might be old stock or later issue).

Not uncommon to find an unissued medal and place it with a case. These cases (and medals as well) were issued well after WW2 into Korea and in some cases depending on which medal into the Vietnam era. The medal ribbon looks to have had a device (Oak leaf cluster most likely) on it at one time which has been removed.
