My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

I have one that the wreath is removable. Wreath looks German made. Rich A. in Pa.

I think this might actually be US made, two piece more common refers to the gemsco style where the wreath was detachable. This was so an expert infantry could be upgraded to CIB. But was not always the case.
Also this is probably from the late 50s/60s still a nice variation

It is a nice variation, depending what you paid it may be worth keeping if you are looking to collect these.
Was really looking to collect just one from WW2. Not going to go down the road of collecting variations of US awards, like I do with my German awards.
I bought 4 awards plus some USAAF Officer collar tabs. So it was all part of a bundle price.
I will see the dealer again in Feb. Thing I will swap it out. Might loss a bit of money but nothing to be concerned about. All of these awards cost me less than a single German PAB

Not a bad deal at all then, if you're looking for a basic ww2 CIB. It will most likely be clutchback like the one shown, and sterling marked on the back. The majority of ww2 ones were sterling during the war, with the exception of some variants and foreign mades. They have actually went down in price. You can find them for $20-25
What do the clutch fronts look like?

Thanks. I spent a bit more than that for this "theater made 2 piece" version. I'm guilty of everything I preach over on the TR side of collecting (post before buying). The good thing is that they are not fakes, just post war and nice ones to boot. In the end it will work out. I'll bring this and the Master Jump wings back at the next show in Feb and do a swap or something...or just decide to keep them as the $ isn't too much and look for others.
Really appreciate the advice.
