303 /1942 dated wooden brit ammo box /morters

picked these up the other day not something i go look for but clad i got them ,the box is one of the most nicest i have seen on the net that i can see , been reading they are not that easy to find


box is dated 1942 use by 44

The box is most likely for RAF use to make up the belts for Aircraft MG. The instruction that the ammunition needs re-proofing for comparative accuracy in 1944 would suggest that. Shame the muslin seal is not whole as that would indicate the location it was issued to.
