Hi,
I'm not an ammo collector; those grenades are accessories in my AK collection. It seems that some members are showing interest in that matter.
See first: PGN 60 HEAT practice rifle grenade
YUGO AK rifle grenades:
Various types in the M60 serie:
The exercise model with the related bag
Each grenade contains in his tail the ballistic round to fire it
Yugo AK's are designed to fire rifle grenade:
Gasvalve can be shut by raising the sight
The buttplate is in rubber to absob the violent recoil
And the cover and recoil spring are locked by a spring activated transversal pin
To fire a grenade:
Remove the barrel nut
Screw the spigot (grenade launcher)
Raise the sight (to shut the gasvalve) and insert the rifle grenade
You can fire a grenade from a AKS (folding stock) but only from the hip if you don't want to damage the stock:
Yugoslavian Simonov's are working the same way.
Clones of the Yugo ak, like the Iraqi Tabuk, built under license, have no flip up grenade sight
More to follow.
