brass shell case

I was at a party on Saturday night and got given this shell case by a guy who always brings me inert ammo of all kinds and sizes shell cases like 108mm etc. Is this one a 18 pounder? Can anyone tell who used it and when? Could i show my others he has gave me i dont evan know who used them British, German?

Hi Ewan, it is a WW1 British 18prd case.

My Grandad was on these guns in the Great War. I have shown a photo of some of these in my thread about him in the WW1 forum

I also admire the way the 1915 dated shell case has kept up with modern developments and can be clearly seen using a laptop. Very impressive.

thanks guys,i never collected ammo untill i met this guy fraser

at the weekend i will show 3 others but these are way bigger than this one and i think german.
