    Default British/Aussie .303 Ww2 incendiary head?

Last time we went up to the old WW2 bunkers and WW2 rifle range here in Western Australia I found this. I might be right is thinking this is a incendairy round that didn't hit target strait on going off? Last couple pics shows that they were using 303 incendairy rounds filled with white phosphorus . I wonder if this might be one?

WP reacts with O2 even after being dormant for decades, if it was WP you would have burnt your fingers. My Man 1 EOD operator in Iraq had to receive urgent medical aid after we dug up a buried stash of WP mortars. We ended up leaving them to burn off after that.
