Default cartridge case from the old war?

    Hello,
need help with a cartridge case. The length is: 6.8 x 7. On the bottom it says: 80, RG, LI3AI
I found her in a forest near Berlin, where there was an American station. The Americans were stationed after WWII (during the cold war)
Is it an American cartridge from the 80s?) What is LI3AI?
    Many thanks for the help.

    It’s a British 7.62 nato blank round

L13A1 means it’s a blank and well the overall body shape confirms that

    1980 being year of production

RG is the maker- Radway green

Just off the top of my head,
Looks to be a blank round made in 1980 by RadwayGreen.
    Possible NATO 7.62x51 MM
    or 5.56X45mm

Blank rounds are used to simulate shooting just with out a projectile being shot

A simple google search gives an answer.

As Jb says blanks simulate the firing of the weapon with out a projectile. There is a charge of powder in the case and when fired should cycle the weapon as a normal cartridge would but with reduced recoil since the release of pressure isn’t the same as a full round. A “dummy” has no charge or primer and is used primarily for the training on loading a weapon.
