Question Cleaning 7.5 cm KwK 40

Hi, I got my hands on two 7.5 cm KwK 40 shell casings - I am trying to clean them to look like new - there are some black rust spots. Somewhere on the internet, I found a mention that this is a steel case, but the color and nice ring would suggest brass - maybe only brass coating?
I would be happy if anyone could tell me something more about those and give me some tips on how to clean it (also the insides)
I already tried using vinegar and rubbing it

Hi. The shell case code 6339st means that it is drawn steel, phosphated.

The maker code of AUX is for Polte, Werk Magdeburg, Poltestr. u. Fichtestr.

I personally wouldn't clean it. It's in much better shape than most steel cases, and the rust doesn't appear to be active. As long as you don't store it in an attic or a shed, it should be fine for years to come.
